Kate Shields began her public relations career at Vault three days after graduating from Syracuse University. After learning the ropes on the agency side, Kate worked in communication roles at both Campbell Soup Company and ARAMARK, where she amassed experience in national media relations campaigns, strategic communication planning, agency management, crisis communications and corporate communications. Kate returned to Vault in 2005 as a partner in the firm, and provides strategic counsel to dozens of clients and C-level executives while also leading the agency’s new business development efforts. She has nurtured a passionate client- and talent-centric culture at Vault, which has grown more than 350% during her tenure as partner.
Kate is an Adjunct Professor of Communication at La Salle University, where she has taught graduate-level courses in Philadelphia and Prague, Czech Republic on corporate social responsibility, public relations and marketing communications. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Please Touch Museum and For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation, as well as on the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. She is a dedicated advocate for the professional advancement of women and a committee member for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Paradigm Award and the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s Take the Lead Awards. In 2013, she received the honor of being inducted into the Mount Saint Joseph Academy Hall of Fame for distinguished alumnae, and in 2017, was named as one of the nation’s “Top Women in PR” by PR News. She is also a proud member of the Forum of Executive Women and the Irish-American Business Chamber & Network.
