Retro Folger's Commercial Rings in the Holidays

People can say whatever they want about the demise of the holiday spirit through the rampant materialism and commercialization of Christmas—but you won’t hear me complain. You see, for me, the holidays just don’t start until I see a commercial.

And I must not be the only one, because even though Folger’s coffee “Peter Comes Home for Christmas” aired nearly 25 years ago, it still is in the seasonal rotation.

Yes, I can watch it a thousand times on You Tube, but it really isn’t the same unless it comes like a Christmas surprise, wedged in a commercial break between its more modern counterparts.

Any commercials stuck with you over the years?

I completely agree. I can't get into the Holiday spirit until I see the commercial with the neatly wrapped red and green foil Hershey Kisses performing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." Lucky for me, this airs earlier and earlier every year!

For me, it's not the holidays until I see what Ferrero Rocher and Hershey's Kisses have come up with each year.

Speaking of holiday commercials, I love Palm's new "Claus" character. In fact, I joined the 31,000+ members on Facebook and became a 'fan.' Another example of the power of social media and branding.
