People can say whatever they want about the demise of the holiday spirit through the rampant materialism and commercialization of Christmas—but you won’t hear me complain. You see, for me, the holidays just don’t start until I see a commercial.
And I must not be the only one, because even though Folger’s coffee “Peter Comes Home for Christmas” aired nearly 25 years ago, it still is in the seasonal rotation.
Yes, I can watch it a thousand times on You Tube, but it really isn’t the same unless it comes like a Christmas surprise, wedged in a commercial break between its more modern counterparts.
