Love Fest

Ah Valentine’s Day. (Or as single people will be calling it, Monday).

Love struck girls look forward to it, forgetful men panic over it and unattached cynics just want it to be over. Valentine’s Day is of course, all about spreading and sharing love. While it is typically focused on romantic love, Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to tell anyone how much you love and appreciate them. My sister and I have gotten cards from our Dad every Valentine’s Day of our lives -- asking us to be his Valentines.

Since the love fest shouldn’t just be for couples, we convinced our client, Tasty Baking Company, to spread some love in a creative way this year. Since the way to a man’s heart (and a woman’s heart if we're being honest) is through the stomach -- what better way to demonstrate one's affection than with delicious, fresh-baked treats.

Everyone knows Tastykake's icon status in the Philadelphia region. People who move out of the area yearn for them, asking relatives to ship the spongy goodness, or bringing an extra suitcase on visits home to stock up on their favorite varieties. Tastykakes comfort those living away from their hometown, but they are even more of a comfort to those serving the country abroad. While it is relatively easy for someone living in Arizona or Colorado to order a case of Butterscotch Krimpets from Tastykake.com, it is not so easy for our troops serving all over the world to get that taste of home.

To demonstrate their appreciation for the troops' daily sacrifices, Tastykake is reaching out to the Facebook community to "love the troops" this week, from February 14-18. For every new “like” the Tastykake fan page receives during Valentine’s week, Tasty Baking Company will donate a Tastykake to our troops serving abroad.

We’re so excited here at Vault to have conceptualized and launched this program. We hope that you have a lovely or, depending on your status, a very quick Valentine’s Day.
