Lights, Camera, Action... A look behind the scenes of the NPMA PSA shoot

In light of the recent news and incredible audio leak of Christian Bale's tantrum on the set of Terminator, I find myself lucky to have worked with the actors on the set of Parallel Lives, a new television PSA from the National Pest Management Association.

Although I did work with some fine actors (in human form), the real stars of the PSA are common household pests. Yes, you heard right. Mice, cockroaches and termites will grace the small screen in Parallel Lives, a cinematic spot set to release this spring that reveals the secret world behind the baseboards-- prompting viewers to wonder, "Is there more than one family enjoying my home?"

Though much more low-maintenance than Bale I'm sure, these critters were nothing but professional and came with their own hired handler to ensure their safety on set. The mice ate popcorn take after take and worked beautifully in front of the green screen. The cockroaches chilled in the frame just long enough for us to grab that perfect shot. And, the termites got right down to business and were naturals as they did what they do best-- gnawing away unabashedly on a piece of wood.

Although I was literally itching by the time we wrapped, I would cast these pros any day in lieu of an albeit, strikingly handsome actor, that would unleash his expletive-filled fury on my set.
