Google recently released their 2008 "Fastest Rising" Top Searches list. Here are the top ten searches in 2008 according to Google's Zeitgeist:

- david cook
- surf the channel
Strictly looking at the fastest rising terms in the United States, you'd think we were election obsessed, social networking crazies fond of music and international sports competitions.
Hmmm.... maybe Google isn't so far from the truth. A few months ago it wouldn't have been out of the ordinary to hear Sarah Palin's name or friendly banter about the merits of David Cook versus David Archuleta (especially if you sit near Abby). And, there is no denying that social networking has been a hot topic within the Vault.
