I wasn’t born in Philadelphia -- and I have no family from Philadelphia. So I truly had no idea how deep Tastykake passion ran in the souls of Philadelphians -- until I started actively working on the brand's social media program here at Vault.
For the past year, Vault has actively worked to expand Tastykake’s presence in the social media space, including pages on Facebook and Twitter. Every day, we receive dozens and dozens of @replies and comments from fans about how much they love the brand and its products, including everything from Kandy Kakes to Krimpets.
Even celebrities -- like Holly Robinson Peete and Joel Madden love Tastykake!
My favorite part of working on the social media strategy for Tastykake is watching the power of social media "in action" -- the level of excitement that people exhibit when Tastykake talks directly to them is unparalleled. When the brand can tell consumers that they love them back, the relationship strengthens even further.
Therefore, we work hard every day to ensure that Tastykake leverages the grand love affair consumers have with the brand ... by answering their questions about the products, listening to their opinions, and even solving a few mysteries in real time. We leverage social media to continue the Tastykake love affair for generations to come.
