If Vault hosted an Overachievers Anonymous meeting on a weekly basis, Jess Phelan would have to facilitate it as our most indulgent perfectionist.
Jess joined Vault fresh out of college after dabbling in event planning and healthcare public relations as an intern. Five years later, after having significantly strengthened the agency through organic and incremental growth that she directly spearheaded, Jess is now (rightfully so) Vice President and Partner. She'll readily admit that she had her eye on a partner title since walking in the door ... and even asked how she could get there in her first performance review. (We forewarned you about the overachiever part.)
Jess thrives under pressure - just throw a multi-tasking gauntlet down and witness the magic. Whether it's coordinating a large-scale media event, landing national placements such as USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, "Mad Money with Jim Cramer," or The Wall Street Journal, or even being asked to step into a temporary in-house leadership role for a client who had a personnel vacancy, Jess' drive and results-oriented thinking earns clients' trust quickly .
Around the office, Jess enjoys mentoring our staff and most importantly, helping us keep our sanity with her sense of humor and approachable demeanor. Whether it's impromptu chats about bad news stories, recommendations for great vacation destinations, tales of her strange neighbors or her take on a new TV series, Jess knows how to "hold court" and captivate an audience around here.
Jess received her B.A. in communications and political science at James Madison University. A native of Newtown, she currently lives in Chalfont, PA with her husband Tim.
